‘The Journey' depicts six figures immersed in gold in a scrum like formation. It stems from a picture I had in my mind a few years ago, of a group of friends in which some of us were strong and holding other friends up, whilst others were struggling yet being literally carried along with the momentum. There was a real sense at the time of a joined force, and of forward motion created by the interlocking figures. An ode to deep friendship perhaps, to the need, as it says in Romans 'to devote ourselves to one another in love'.
